The Rumford Cook Book by Fannie Merritt Farmer.
Well-known as one of America's premier cookbook authors and principal of The Boston Cooking School, Fannie Farmer became one of the first celebrity spokespersons when she authored this advertising cookbooklet for Rumford Baking Powder. Published about 1910 as an promotional advertising giveaway, The Rumford Cook Book is filled with 48 pages of recipes ranging from biscuits and breads to crullers and doughnuts to pastries, pies, and puddings.
Fannie writes in the Note of the Author at the start of the book: "This little book of recipes, all of which have been tried in my own kitchen, has been prepared for the use of Rumford Baking Powder. With the best ingredients (which are always the cheapest,) careful measurement and good judgment in cooking, satisfactory results are sure to follow."
The original red cord is strung through a hole at the top left corner, allowing the booklet to be hung somewhere in the kitchen within easy reach for cooking and baking.
The Rumford Cook Book measures approximately 7" x 4 1/4".
Add this booklet to your Rumford collection, your cookbook collection, or your Fannie Farmer collection - no matter where it hangs, it will be sure to delight!
