Pink Thistle Cake/Pie Server, Mid-century Ceramic

Lovely pie or cake server with pink thistle and leaf motif. 

Throughout the early and middle years of the 20th century, ceramic pie or cake servers such as this were manufactured in Europe and the United States for everyday use.  This example measures approximately 9 1/2" long and was well-loved as evidenced by the light crazing overall...imagine the many cakes and pies that were served during holidays and family dinners! These servers were decorated to add a bit of elegance and celebration to serving a piece of pie or a slice of cake.
