Perfection Cook Book, California Perfume Company Extracts, c. 1930
Perfection Cook Book, California Perfume Company Extracts, c. 1930
Perfection Cook Book cookbooklet published by the California Perfume Company Extracts.
The company, well known for its flavoring extracts such as vanilla lemon, and almond, developed this promotional giveaway cookbooklet to highlight its products. Interestingly, Perfection productions were manufactured by the California Perfume Company at a time when aromatic extracts were considered perfumes cooking and baking. The Company was the precursor to Avon; as noted with a reference inside the front cover.
The Perfection Cook Book was offered to potential customers by a door-to-door salesperson in an attempt to increase the sales of Perfection household products. With 24 pages, and a measurement of approximately 6 1/4" x 3" x 3 1/2", the size was manageable for the salesperson traveling through neighborhoods in the early years of the 20th century.
"The simplest meal can be a party when Perfection products give flavor and charm to everyday recipes."
