Niloak Cream Tulip Vase with Five Openings, 1930s-40s
Niloak Cream Tulip Vase with Five Openings, 1930s-40s
The Niloak Pottery began making arts and crafts ceramics in Benton, Arkansas in 1910. Best known for its "Mission Swirl" line of marbled pottery, Niloak also produced castware from molds in the form of vases and planters until the company closed in in 1947. With art pottery designed for the prairie-style decorating scheme that was popular in the United States during the first half of the 20th century, and with prices that were affordable for the times, Niloak was a popular option for many homeowners.
The tulip vase is one of Niloak's best known designs and was glazed in a wide range of colors. This cream example, with five "tulip" openings for flowers, is versatile and will fit beautifully in any decor.
