Nilaok Embossed Daisy Pitcher, 1930s-40s
Nilaok Embossed Daisy Pitcher, 1930s-40s
Green Niloak Daisy pitcher.
This beautiful pitcher, covered in an overall embossed daisy flower pattern, was manufactured by Niloak Pottery in the 1930s/40s. This version is glazed in a bright and lively green, while other colors included blue, pink, and cream.
The Niloak Pottery began making arts and crafts ceramics in Benton, Arkansas in 1910. Best known for its "Mission Swirl" line of marbled pottery, Niloak also produced castware from molds in the form of vases and planters until the company closed in in 1947. With art pottery designed for the prairie-style decorating scheme that was popular in the United States during the first half of the 20th century, and with prices that were affordable for the times, Niloak was a popular option for many homeowners.
