New Fashioned Old-Fashioned Recipes, a recipe cookbooklet from Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and Cow Brand Baking Soda.  Published in 1951, this advertising giveaway provides 19 pages of recipes and household hints promoting Arm & Hammer and its sister brand, Cow Baking Soda. 

The booklet introduces the "new fashioned" way to get the best, uniform results from baking soda through the use of vinegar rather than sour milk, as grandmother used to do.  It is fascinating that so many of these early- and mid-20th century recipe booklets use science as the basis for their promotions.  New Fashioned Old-Fashioned Recipes follows this format and offers the reader a delectable selection of recipes to try using this "new" vinegar method.
