Enesco Mouse and Apples Wall Pocket Vase, 1950s

Charming ceramic wall pocket featuring a little mouse amongst apples.  Manufactured by Enesco in the 1950s.

Popularized in the early years of the 20th century, between the world wars, figural wall pockets took form in many shapes and sizes.  Manufactured in the United States and imported from Europe during these years, wall pockets, or wall vases, held cut flowers or ivy stems for rooting. After the second world war, imports from Japan became popular and remained popular throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

Glazed with classic mid-century colors, this wall pocket measures approximately 6" tall x 5" wide. This adorable mid-century example has a lovely finish and whimsical form, perfect for bringing a bit of nature indoors!
