Made of lithographed tin with a wooden handle, it is apparent how well-loved and treasured this 1940s flour sifter was in its previous home.  A sifter like this would have been found in most kitchens in early and mid-century America, each with a design that was special to the baker in the house.  Imagine the celebratory cakes, after-school cookies, holiday pies, and everyday breads this kitchen treasure has seen!
