Fantasy of Foods Cook Book published by The National Live Stock and Meat Board.

In the 1950s, WEEU Radio in Reading, Pennsylvania partnered with the UGI Gas Company and The National Live Stock and Meat Board to offer in-person "Gas Cooking Schools" in the ballroom of the grand old Hotel Abraham Lincoln.  Advertised on the radio and in promotions to UGI customers, the cooking school taught participants how to cook with gas stoves and ovens while offering significant prizes as incentives to attend.  Of course, each attendee also received a useful recipe booklet as a reminder of their gas cooking school experience.

Measuring approximately 6 3/4" x 5" this souvenir of the WEEU-UGI Gas Cooking School held on  November 8, 9, 10, 11, 1960, includes 39 pages of recipes, tips about different cuts of meats and their preparation, and classic mid-century graphic.  Note the small stain at the bottom center of the booklet.

Radio used to rule, especially for homemakers listening while they cooked or cleaned or ironed.  Grab an apron, transport yourself to another era, and start cooking (with gas or electric - the recipes work either way).

Shipping will be calculated at check-out.
