English Cottage Plates, Set of Three, Sandland Ware.

These charming plates were manufactured by Lancaster & Sandland Ltd. during the 1940s in Hanley, England.  Each plate depicts a classic English scene with title including "In an Old World Garden", "The Jolly Boatman", and "The Posy Shop".  The garden accents are especially delightful and evoke a visit a visit to merry old England.

With dimensions of approximately 6" x 6", the plates are the perfect size for a scone with jam and clotted cream, a slice of cake, or a sampling of cucumber sandwiches.  Check out the maker's mark on the underside - the handshake will inspire an afternoon with friends!
