Beautifully detailed ceramic kitchen wall pocket featuring carrots and green beans fresh from the garden.
Popularized in the early years of the 20th century, between the world wars, figural kitchen wall pockets took form in many shapes and sizes. Manufactured in the United States and imported from Europe during these years, wall pockets, or wall vases, held cut flowers or ivy stems for rooting. After the Second World War, imports from Japan became popular throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
